Junior and the Youth Worship Team

This past Sunday morning was Junior's first time playing live for church service.

He was really excited and nervous all at the same time. The youth worship team is really good! We always love when they lead worship!

He is really enjoying this base guitar..he seems to think it fits him better then the clarinet he plays for school..lol

You can go to our church website http://www.calvarywilliamsburg.org and hear the worship live as well as all of Pastor Tom's messages :)

My "Go To" Guy...

John bought me a new book shelf so that i could organize my books and children's ministry stuff and I was so excited. Saturday morning I was laying in bed sick and Spencer came in and said "Hey mom, would you like me to put this bookshelf together for you?" I was so excited and said "Yes, that would be great." He did a GREAT job!!!
He worked so hard and followed the directions so carefully...he just blows me away! He is my best little helper here at home! I would be so lost without him and way BEHIND..lol
I should have post the pictures of the computer tables him and John put together last week for the kids computers...he is a "HandyGUY"
Here is the book shelf all put together and my stuff organized. I need another book shelf I think...I still have a whole big box of books to put away, but i loved these little polka dotted baskets I found to put on the book shelf..I don't want to take them off!
THANK GOD FOR ROLLBACK PRICES AT WALMART ;)

Spring is HERE :)

These are some of the trees in our front yard that have bloomed...we call them our "snowball" trees...they are beautiful!

These are bushes in our back yard..in real life they are this amazing BRIGHT yellow with these little pink trees in the middle of each yellow bush!

Just another sign of God's beautiful creations!

It's Time to start LISTENING!!!

New CDC Study Puts Autism Prevalence at 1 In 110 American Children, 1 In 70 Boys

In the wake of today's new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stating that autism now affects 1 in every 110 American children, Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, called on the federal government to immediately step up its efforts – and dramatically increase funding – to address the growing national autism public health crisis. The CDC report, published in this week's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), states that 1% or 1 in every 110 children has been diagnosed with autism, including 1 in 70 boys. This represents a staggering 57 percent increase from 2002 to 2006, and a 600 percent increase in just the past 20 years. Other significant findings include that a broader definition of ASDs does not account for the increase, and while improved and earlier diagnosis accounts for some of the increase, it does not fully account for the increase. Thus, a true increase in the risk for ASD cannot be ruled out. Even though parents typically express concerns about their child's developmental progress before age three, the average age of diagnoses is not until 53 months, although diagnoses are occurring earlier than found in the 2002 study. The report uses the same methodology that produced the CDC's 2007 prevalence findings of 1 in 150 children with autism. These new findings reinforce that autism is an urgent and growing public health crisis that affects most individuals across their lifespan and demands a commensurate level of action from both the public and private sectors.

California Trip

We were blessed to be able to go back to California this past week. Although, we were very sad to have to go back for yet another goodbye! It has been very hard to have both of John's parents die within 28 days of each other. We are in ShOcK and very sad...but we PRAISE God for His unfailing strength and love!
This trip we were able to bring all the kids with us. The first time they had ever been on an airplane! They all did really great! Gabriel was amazing and sat quiet through the 5 hour flight! It was also nice because John's brother's were also able to bring their families this trip as well. So it was the first time that all 10 grand kids have all been together. I bet John and Connie were wearing the biggest smiles in heaven :) The cousins really enjoyed being together..prayerfully next time we are all together we will be celebrating with each other rather then comforting each other!
